Disability Support Services
VCU is committed to creating and maintaining a learning environment where all students have equal access to academics, programs, services, and activities. If students are accepted to VCU through ACE-IT in College, they will meet with the Office of Disability Support Services to determine appropriate academic supports and accommodations. Accommodations can include extended time for tests, testing in a limited distraction room, priority registration, alternative textbooks, and notetakers.
College is very different than high school. Students do not have an an Individualized Education Program (IEP) in college, so accommodations must be requested through the Disability Support Services (DSS) office under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
