Technology

Technology is an important part of the ACE-IT in College academic program. ACE-IT in College staff will work with students and families to assess what types of technology will be most helpful for each student.

In the past, assistive technology has included tablets, note taking technology, text-to-speech software, speech-to-text software, and eBooks.

Most ACE-IT in College students use tablets inside and outside of the classroom. Students use them for checking VCU emails, catching up with coursework on Blackboard, adding due dates into the calendar, researching materials that support course content, stress management, social networking, reading college textbooks as well as other class materials, and much more. Staff will work with students and education coaches to maximize the benefits of using tablets and other technology at VCU.
